The New Google Business Profile:

Google stated that Google My Business (GMB), its local listing platform, will be renamed Google Business Profile.

"We propose that small companies handle their profiles directly on Search or Maps in the future. Therefore, 'Google My Business' is being renamed 'Google Business Profile,' to keep things simple "The formal statement was written by Matt Madrigal, VP/GM Merchant Shopping.

"And, in 2022, we'll phase out the Google My Business app so that more retailers can take advantage of the better Search and Maps experience," says Google.

Several new features have been announced, along with the makeover.

What does this signify for the millions of small company owners, marketers, and brands that rely on Google My Business (now GBP) to manage their local internet presence?

What's New With Google Business Profile:

For some months, you've had the option to change your Business Profile information from a search. Still, now you can complete verification or resolve other issues with your Business Profile directly from search.

To do so, go to Google or the Google Maps app and search for your company's name. You'll see an opportunity to authenticate your Business Profile or handle any concerns with your profile, such as a suspension.

You can change the information consumers see when searching for your company, such as your address and business hours, make posts, respond to reviews, and more, all from search or Maps.

In the next months, any businesses that create a Google Business Profile will finish their setup directly on Google Search and Maps.

You can also check if your profile is visible to the general public.

Let's go through some of the local SEO advantages of using Google Business Profiles, as well as how you may change your information on Google search and Maps.
